Born and raised near Detroit,
Michigan, Brian performed in his first play in the fourth grade
after the school music teacher gave him no other choice. He also
excelled in sports throughout school and his senior year of high
school was elected captain of his football, basketball and baseball
teams as well as earning All-State honors in football.
Brian went on to earn an Economics degree while playing football
at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, taking acting classes
along the way and, finally, having the time his last semester,
was cast in a sketch comedy show on U of M's main stage where
he played a farmer that talked to his cows.
After moving to New York City, he continued his acting training,
studying with Wynn Handman, Ron Van Lieu, Ariane Brandt and the
2004 Public Theater Shakespeare Lab as well as quickly landing
roles in film (Kate and Leopold, Puccini For Beginner's), television
(NYPD Blue) and theatre ("Burning Blue").
A special relationship began in 2004 with The Purple Rose Theatre
in Chelsea, Michigan -- the theatre founded by actor Jeff Daniels
to foster new talent. Brian played the lead role of Bo Decker
in William Inge's "Bus Stop" and the production earned
The Detroit Free Press' "Best Play" award. Brian became
a produced playwright in 2006 when The Purple Rose, developed
and produced a full run of his first play, "When The Lights
Come On" about his experiences in the world of college football.
Brian is now a proud Associate Artist at the Purple Rose as well
as a member of their Playwright's Circle.
Recently relocated to Los Angeles, Brian has guest starred in
numerous television shows the last year and is working on a new
play as well as a screenplay. |
