Elizabeth
Karr is a working actor in theatre, lm and television for twenty
years. TV appearances include House, ER, Womens Murder Club,
Veronica Mars, Sleeper Cell, The West Wing, and Young & Restless.
Film credits include Shiloh Season, Radio Free Albemuth, January
Man. Elizabeth is an active member of the LA Theatre Community--Chairman
of the Board of Classical Theatre Lab, Artistic Director of Cedarburg
Productions and Company Member of Pacic Resident Theatre. She
has performed lead roles with Fountain Theatre, Odyssey Theatre,
Colony Theatre, Circus Theatricals, Classical Theatre Lab, Hudson
Theatre and PRT.
On
the other side of the camera, Elizabeth is a Co Producer on indie
feature, RADIO FREE ALBEMUTH, adaptation of a Philip K Dick novel,
written and directed by John Alan Simon. PKD other books made
into movies include Blade Runner, Minority Report and Scanner
Darkly. She is Consulting Producer of the Disney Channel
pilot, WEBGIRL, based on her original treatment. Directing credits
include several short films and a PSA for New Directions, produced
by Women in Film and City TV/Santa Monica.
Projects
in development include THANKSGIVING and PUMPKIN PIE,original
screenplays, written by Emer Gillespie, and NOTHING MORE THAN
MURDER, adaptation of a Jim Thompson novel (The Getaway, The
Grifters), with writer/director John Alan Simon.
Elizabeth
has produced theatre for Cedarburg Productions, Classical Theatre
Lab and Pacific Resident Theatre. Critics Choice productions
that she acted in and produced include Uncle Vanya with Orson
Bean, Woman of No Importance and An Ideal Husband as Victorian
noir. Her one woman show, The Rejected Letter, was a finalist
in the LA Womens Theatre Festival.
Casting
director credits include RADIO FREE ALBEMUTH, two award winning
AFI/DWW short films, Void and Gosias Witch, as well as
theatre in LA.
Elizabeth
is an Acting/Audition coach and a Professional Theatre Teaching
Artist on the Music Center roster, LAs Best and LAUSD/ACPN.
Elizabeth also teaches theatre residencies in Los Angeles, Culver
City Burbank and Moorpark school districts, as well as pro bono
Shakespeare workshops in South Central LA.
