Sarah Zinsser
is a founding member of PRT. She appeared as "the Fly"
in PRT's (PTE back then) first production of Bertold Brecht's
"Happy End". Other PRT productions include the original
Co-op show "Waiting for Lefty" and the main stage productions
of "Slaughter House on Tanner's Close", "Hot L
Baltimore", "Romanoffs':, Aliens", 3 years of
"A Long Christmas Dinner". She costumed Alice in Wonderland,
Camino Real and won a LADCC award for costuming "Beggars
Opera". More recently, Sarah performed in "The Killing
of Sister George", assistant directed "Mrs. Warren's
Profession" and directed an adapted version of "A Midsummer
Night's Dream" with 11-15 years old.
Sarah is a member of the Matrix Theatre
Company where she performed in "Mad Forest" and "Water
Children". She performed in the west coast premier of Horton
Foote's "The Day Emily Married" at the Ruth Shannon
Theatre and in "Trelany of the Wells with A Notice Within".
At the 24th Street Theatre she has acted in "On The Verge",
"The Great Magoo" and "The Cave Dwellers"
which she co-directed with Stephanie Shroyer. In 1999 Sarah won
the LADCC award for featured actress for "Bitter Women"
at the Cast Theatre.
During her stint in NY Sarah worked at
the Portland Stage Company and Hudson Valley Shakespeare many
times. She performed at La Mama in Buck Simple and in her one
woman show, "Life Bytes".
Television
credits include The Guardian, The Practice, The Geena Davis Show
(pilot), Strong Medicine and Almost a Woman for Master Piece
Theatre. Films include Big Momma's House, Private Parts, Mike's
Murder and Love Child.
