Carolyn Mignini started performing on her dad’s knee, learning songs from the 30’s and 40’s from him in order to stay up past bedtime. She has made a career in theater and television, one of the high points being a Drama Desk nomination for her portrayal of Anna Held in TINTYPES on Broadway.

She appeared in the New York premier of THE MIDDLE AGES by A.R. Gurney and SISTER MARY EXPLAINS IT ALL FOR YOU & THE ACTOR’S NIGHTMARE by Christopher Durang. One of her first shows in N.Y. was THE FANTASTICKS, off-Broadway. She spent several seasons taping CBS’ CAPTAIN KANGAROO, creating a wide variety of characters for the much honored children’s program.

Carolyn’s other Broadway shows include A HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN FILM by Christopher Durang; ONE NIGHT STAND , a Bruce Jay Friedman comedy; TRICKS, a musical version of SCAPIN and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. She is a member of ENSEMBLE STUDIO THEATER in New York and in Los Angeles.

When she relocated to Los Angeles, her acting work shifted to television, doing shows like THE PRACTICE, CHICAGO HOPE, MAD ABOUT YOU, MURPHY BROWN, PICKET FENCES, WONDER YEARS, FAMILY TIES and NEWHART, to name a few. Carolyn also co-starred in several Movies of the Week, among them; BACKFIELD IN MOTION with Roseanne, EMPTY CRADLE with Kate Jackson, and HBO’s VIETNAM WAR STORIES. She also acted in two highly acclaimed theater productions; the Los Angeles premier of Stephen Sondheim’s ASSASINS at the L.A. Repertory Company and Clifford Odet’s AWAKE AND SING at the Odyssey Theater.

Carolyn now devotes all her time to teaching and coaching. She runs a successful studio in Studio City, teaching vocal technique privately to singers of all levels, from seasoned professionals to absolute beginners. She also conducts a weekly Musical Performance Class at the Larry Moss Studio in Santa Monica. Carolyn has directed a number of cabaret acts, as well as a series of musical revivals; THE YEARLING, GOLDEN RAINBOW, and FIG LEAVES ARE FALLING as benefit performances at the Gardenia in West Hollywood.
